I have been doing some research into Vitamin D. I have found some very interesting connections. One such connection is links to Cancer research. Research is beginning to show that sufficient levels of Vitamin D actually disrupt the cancer cells communication.
Vitamin D is being linked with many other issues too such as depression and fatigue. And wouldn’t you know, Shaklee just released that due to clinical studies they have increased the Vitamin D levels in all their products that have it in already. In some cases almost doubling the amount. Shaklee has continually upgraded their products for the last fifty plus years as clinical research proves prudent.
Here is an excerpt from an article that featured on Mercola.com.
New Model Of Cancer Development: Vitamin D is the Key
Researchers studying the preventive effects of vitamin D on cancer have proposed a new model of cancer development that hinges on a loss of cancer cells’ ability to stick together. The model, dubbed DINOMIT, differs from the older model of cancer development, which suggests genetic mutations as the earliest driving forces behind cancer.
“The first event in cancer is loss of communication among cells due to, among other things, low vitamin D and calcium levels,” said epidemiologist Cedric Garland. “This loss may play a key role in cancer by disrupting the communication between cells that is essential to healthy cell turnover, allowing more aggressive cancer cells to take over.”
Here is another excerpt from a different study that Shaklee had run by a third party clinic.
"In this study, intake of vitamin D from dietary supplements was strongly linked with vitamin D levels in the blood. The greater the intake of vitamin D from dietary supplements, the higher the amount of vitamin D found in the blood. More importantly, as vitamin D intakes increased, HDL cholesterol (or “good cholesterol”) levels increased as well. Future research is needed to determine if vitamin D from dietary supplements can lower risk levels for metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease."
So please check out your supplements. Are you getting enough Vitamin D? Most people in the North West and North East are not getting enough.
